Bus service to Hinton “under review”

Oxfordshire County Council has been in touch with local Parish Councils to notify everyone that they are reviewing contracts for subsidised bus routes.  In their letter the number 63 route, which connects Hinton and Longworth with Oxford, is noted as “entire service is under review”.  This appears to suggest that they may consider discontinuing this …

Upgraded broadband is one step nearer

BT has started work to upgrade Longworth’s and Hinton’s broadband infrastructure. This is a major step towards fulfilling their commitment to provide faster broadband service by the end of 2014. Broadband upgrade work to start by December

BT has just updated its superfast broadband availability Web site and is now showing that work to upgrade broadband service to Hinton is scheduled to begin by December 2014.  That’s an improvement over the date previously published, which said “work will begin in 2015”.

Paid work helping with European elections

Vale of White Horse District Council is seeking people to assist at polling stations for the European elections taking place on Thursday 22 May.
