Comet Bus to Oxford

Thank you to those who supported the inaugural Comet mini bus service to and from Oxford on 12 October. However it was a bit too successful, so much so that the 16 seats were filled by the time we arrived at the first stop in Appleton! We left 12 Appleton passengers at the next stops.

We obviously cannot continue like that. Consequently we are going to share the Comet bus in this trial by alternating village use to a fortnightly service so that we can see what the usage is over the full 8 weeks. It will continue on Wednesdays only as follows:-

Hinton and Longworth passengers will be able to use the bus only on 26 October, 9 November and 23 November. Leave Hinton (bus shelter) at 10.00am, return from Oxford (County Hall) at 1.00pm.

Appleton passengers will have sole use of the bus on 19 October and 2, 16 and 30 November.

We are sorry for this change but it is to enable us to fairly share the limited service that is available and to decide whether we should make the service a more permanent arrangement or not.

Perhaps you would like to make your views known at the next Parish Council meeting on 8 November?
