Hinton Waldrist Helpers
To all the residents of Hinton Waldrist & Duxford
CORONAVIRUS (Covid-19)
As the coronavirus outbreak continues, our village community has rallied together and offers of help have poured in on social media, but we as a parish want to create one coordinated helping body. This group, whom we are calling The “Hinton Waldrist Helpers” which is backed by the Parish Council can then organise volunteers to provide informal help to our neighbours in most need.
We have set up a network of volunteers who can provide help & support in the following areas: Collections / Deliveries / Shopping / Transport / Neighbourly support / Dog walking / prescriptions collection / conversations from a safe distance.
This information leaflet has been delivered to everyone in our village. If you need assistance, then please contact one of the coordinators – Jo Bailey, Sharon Collins, Vanessa Naworynsky or Melissa Hamill. Our newly created email (especially for this), and individual contact numbers are listed below. All information provided will be treated as strictly confidential, according to the General Data Protection Regulation (the GDPR) and other legislation relating to personal data.
Our aim for anyone self-isolating would be to provide you with one or two regular contacts who can help you on a day-to-day basis. We will have teams venturing out on shopping runs and delivering to your doorstep. If you rely on food banks , we will try to access these for you.
You may already have organised support. This is great. It’s important to note however, that if your current support/help falls ill or has to be isolated, then Hinton Helpers are at hand, right in the heart of our village.
Please don’t hesitate to contact us by email or on the numbers listed below if you need help. It is in complete confidence and we can organise appropriate support.
